About
Odessa Spore is an artist who works in film, illustration, and community art projects. She enjoys collaborating with other artists and organizations. Born in California, she immigrated to Canada at 6 months old and since has straddled the two countries. In 2019, she started Artplay, a facilitated online open studio practice for anyone wanting to put creative play back into their life.

Working with collage, paint, printmaking and film, Odessa’s work weaves together the whimsical and atmospheric. Themes of place, belonging and beauty in the natural world help inspire her work. Odessa is also a practitioner of Ikebana ( japanese flower arrangement) and studied for 5 years with Soho Sake, a master teacher in the Segetsu school of ikebana.

Odessa holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. She is an art facilitator with the Wonder'neath Team Art Hive, a contributor to Artlarks, and is a PAINTS artist with Visual Arts Nova Scotia.
